The newly formed theoretical astrophysics programme at the university of North West works mainly on the theoretical studies of pulsating stars. In this talk, I review stellar oscillations, and discuss how these can be used to probe the interior of stars. I will also include a brief introduction to the theory of stellar pulsation. I will then discuss some of the problems we are currently working at Mmabatho, such as, the interaction of radiation with oscillations in the atmospheres of stars. Finally I will show comparison of our models with data, and future prospects.
