In this talk I am going to give an overview of the University of the Free State astrophysics program. We focus on accretion driven processes in galactic and extra galactic objects like white dwarf, neutron stars, black holes and super massive black holes. A brief tour through the fascinating processes driving the multi-wavelength emission of these systems and sculpting their evolution will be presented.
