An overview of prominent research questions in the field of theoretical stellar astrophysics and observational asteroseismology, respectively, will be presented. The UJ/WITS Stellar Astrophysics Group's research projects for the next 3 years will also be outlined, with a specific focus on potential student projects. The projects cover stellar structure theory, numerical modelling, CCD/PMT photometry, asteroseismology and statistical data analysis.
