IFU Kinematics in a Subsample of MHONGOOSE Galaxies

Project: 
The aim of this project is to study relationship between star formation and ionized gas dynamics and to characterize the multi-phase ISM in a sub-sample of galaxies that will be observed with MeerKAT as part of the MHONGOOSE survey. The student will use data taken with the WiFeS optical integral field unit on the 2.3m ANU telescope. The analysis of the ionized gas will be crucial to completely characterize the kinematics and gas properties of these galaxies once HI data has been taken.

Requirements for students to address: 
The project will mainly focus on analysis of IFU data, so the student must have some basic programming skills, be comfortable with working in Python and be eager to learn how to use new software.
