The role of LIGO and VIRGO in the progress of gravitation and cosmology

Project:
One hundred years ago, Albert Einstein made a suggestion about wave-like propagation of gravity. In his point of view if two large mass objects like the giant stars, neutron stars or black holes spin as a binary system then by colliding together this system causes to create huge fluctuations in warped space-time. Thence this oscillations can propagate like the waves (namely gravitational waves) in the whole of the Universe and we able to detect them albeit by supplying enough sensitive instruments. One of these important detectors is LIGO which is the abbreviation of Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory and another one is the VIRGO. So, we want to study in detail these interesting high-tech laboratories whose discoveries lead to the Nobel Prize recently.
